I have the first day of the school year behind me now, but as a school librarian/media specialist (cybrarian, I've heard), I teach 16+ classes each week. What that means is that in some ways I have 16+ first days of school!! I teach seven classes today, so I have seven new beginnings. Tomorrow I have another four.
I'm already looking forward to the second week of school because that's when I feel like I can really start to teach. I'm eager to get my upper grades blogging and responding to each others writing. I always feel like I have so little time with them though. Because of that, I have a tendency to go too fast and not take all the time I need in order to set the standard high enough and explain expectations...I feel the pressure of the lack of time. I'm really going to try to go with more baby steps this year and get a higher quality finished product.
